Discover the foundations of acting through movement, voice, improvisation, and performance in a supportive and creative environment.

This four-week course offers an introduction to the actor’s toolkit, exploring how performers use their body, voice, and connection with others to create truthful and engaging performances. Through practical exercises, improvisation, and scene work, participants will develop confidence, presence, and a deeper understanding of the acting process.

For adults aged 18 and over. No previous acting experience required — just curiosity and a willingness to explore.

 

Booking Information

Sundays, 6, 13, 20 & 27 September
10:00am–11:30am
£45 for the full four-week course or £15 per session (available for Weeks 1–3 only, subject to availability)

About the Tutor

Grace Emily Porter is an actor, writer, and director trained at LAMDA. With experience both in front of and behind the camera, she brings an understanding of performance, character, and storytelling to her teaching. Her approach is practical, creative, and rooted in helping actors develop confidence, presence, and their own unique voice.

 

Venue & What to Bring

The course will take place in the Museum Walled Garden (weather permitting), offering a unique outdoor setting for creative exploration.

Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement and be prepared to work on grass. In the event of unsuitable weather, an alternative indoor space will be used where possible.
