We have reviewed our COVID safety precautions to decide how we can best look after our visitors and staff, and will be keeping the following procedures in place to ensure the safest environment going forward. We will be reviewing this practice monthly.
We ask you to help us keep everyone safe by sticking to the following precautions.
Please wear a mask/face covering
Face coverings must be worn at all times covering your mouth and nose, unless exempt.
We will continue to regulate the number of people we allow in certain spaces, to ensure they don’t get too crowded. Visitors are required to pre-book tickets for events and exhibitions.
Please continue to wash your hand regularly when visiting us.
We will be keeping up with frequent cleaning of surfaces and touch-points throughout the museum buildings.
Hand sanitiser will continue to be available on entrance to the museum, as well as regularly throughout our galleries.
Pre-booking and charges apply to visit some of our temporary exhibitions and Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery.
The toilets, including access and baby changing facilities, are open and cleaned regularly. The café, garden and shop, will be open. The ground floor is accessible for wheelchair users and via a lift to the first floor.
In line with government guidance we are supporting the Test and Trace programme. This means you will be asked to scan the NHS Covid-19 app QR code or we’ll make a note of your contact details.
To help keep everyone safe, where possible please follow social distancing and government guidance when you visit. And look out for signs while you’re here which will explain any changes to how you can access different parts of the site. If you’re showing any of the symptoms of coronavirus, or if you’ve been in contact with anyone that has the virus in the last 10 days, please don’t visit.
