Join us for a vibrant celebration of Holi – Spring Festival of Colours 2024, hosted by the Aylesbury Hindu Temple Trust, a local charity dedicated to supporting our community.

Holi is more than just a festival – it’s a celebration of love, unity, and new beginnings. Regardless of age or social status, people come together to cast away resentments and embrace the vibrant colours that symbolise positivity and the changing seasons. Aylesbury Vale’s multicultural landscape makes the celebration of Holi even more significant, fostering diversity, unity, and community cohesion.

Our Holi event promises a day of endless fun and entertainment for the whole family. From playing with dry powdered colours (Gulal) to indulging in delicious Indian street food, enjoying music and dance performances, engaging in children’s craft activities, participating in the raffle draw, and more – there’s something for everyone to enjoy. It is a time to let loose and celebrate life. Family and friends gather to playfully throw colourful paint and bright powders at each other and in the air, fully immersing themselves from head-to-toe in colour. Additionally, a traditional wooden drum called a “Dhol” is played by a troupe, while dancing amid the colours.

As we come together to celebrate Holi, we also strive to share knowledge about Hindu beliefs, customs, culture, and traditions, while promoting British values of mutual understanding and respect. This event is an opportunity for the wider local community to experience the beauty and richness of Indian culture first-hand, completely free of charge.

So, let’s paint the town with the colours of joy and camaraderie as we celebrate Holi together with dignitaries and residents of Aylesbury and surrounding areas. Whether you’re a seasoned Holi enthusiast or new to the festivities, everyone is welcome to join in the celebration.

Wishing you all a very Happy Holi – may your day be filled with love, joy, fun and vibrant colours!
