Summer Family Engagement Volunteer

Job Title: Learning Volunteer
Reports To: Education Manager
Dates: 18th July-1st September

Based at: Discover Bucks Museum, 9 Church Street in Aylesbury.

Help children and families engage with our summer family trail!

Are you passionate about helping children enjoy museums? Would you like to gain experience working with families and children in heritage or would you like to put your existing experience working with children to good use?

We are looking for warm, friendly people who can help to introduce children and families to our summer Dragon Quest trail! Your role will be to:
-Welcome families as they arrive
-Explain how the trail will work
-Help the children create their own Saxon coins to take home

Most importantly, your role will be to get the children excited for the quest ahead of them, so warmth and enthusiasm is absolutely key!

You may also be asked to help answer guests’ general questions and patrol the main site to help keep it tidy over the day.

You might have lots of experience working with families or none at all: the most important thing is to have energy and enthusiasm!
You will receive full training and support in this role. Days can be chosen to fit with your schedule.

A museum day runs from 10.00-5.00 and we welcome volunteers for full days (10-5), half days (10-1 or 1-4) or any other time commitment.

If you would like to use your existing experience and skills to help new generations foster a love of museums, this is the role for you!
