Back In Time: The Tudors Of Church Street

What was life like when Discover Bucks Museum was a Tudor Guild Hall?

Pupils will become Time Detectives as they investigate the diary of William Paget and hunt for clues of what life looked like for the Tudors of Aylesbury. This hands-on workshop will allow pupils to explore how the Tudors ate, dressed and played through a range of hands-on activities.

In this workshop, pupils will:

-explore the Tudor part of the building and investigate how a Tudor house was constructed

-use primary sources to determine what a Tudor diet looked like and what we can learn about life in the Tudor era

-learn about how the Tudors treated their sick and how ideas about hygiene have changed, while making a pomander to take home

-try on a range of Tudor fashions and experience writing with a quill, while learning about how Tudor fashion and writing systems were different to the modern day

-learn about key developments in the Tudor Era and how they have benefitted our lives today
