How are fossils formed? Where does rock come from? What can we learn from the geology around us?
During this workshop, groups will become geologists to explore the formation and uses of rocks and fossils through a mix of object handling, gallery exploration and hands-on activities.
In this workshop, pupils will:
-learn how fossils are made and what can be learnt from them
-explore how different types of rock are formed, how to recognise them and their different uses in everyday life
-handle a range of rock and fossil samples and learn how to trace their origins
-explore our museum gallery and discover why Bucks has the fossils that it does
